Depending on the area of work and application as well as the number of employees, different first aid kits are required. First-aid kits are always standardised according to a DIN - subdivided according to the number of employees or the number of people on a construction site and their hazard potential.
According to DGUV Regulation 1, the employer must ensure that the necessary equipment and material resources as well as the required personnel are available for first aid and rescue from danger.
For larger construction sites with 11-50 persons as well as companies with 21-100 employees in manufacturing and processing operations and 51-300 employees in administrative and commercial operations, a filling of first aid boxes in accordance with DIN 13169 is prescribed. Alternatively, one first-aid kit in accordance with DIN 13169 can be replaced by 2 first-aid kits filled in accordance with DIN 13157.
As the number of employees increases, the number of first-aid boxes required in accordance with the ASR specifications also increases accordingly. For construction sites with 51-100 people, 2 first-aid boxes in accordance with DIN 13169 are required. An additional first aid kit in accordance with DIN 13169 is required for 50 additional persons on the construction site or construction site-like facilities.
A standardised DIN 13164 filling is prescribed for a small vehicle first aid kit. According to the Occupational Health and Safety Ordinance, a vehicle first aid kit in accordance with DIN 13164 is also sufficient for field service activities.
Refill packs or first aid kits DIN 14142 are mandatory for fire and rescue services. Refill packs for fire and rescue services are significantly more comprehensive than the standard vehicle first aid kit. The fillings are suitable for suitcases, rucksacks and bags.
Our recommendation for all company paramedics - a DIN 13155 kit containing materials for suction, ventilation and dressing material for wound care as well as material for diagnostics. The equipment is therefore ideal for first-aid kits.
The ÖNORM is the Austrian equivalent of the German DIN standard. A distinction is made between the national, purely Austrian standard (ÖNORM) and the European standard, which was adopted by the Austrian Standards Institute (ÖNORM EN). Among other things, there are ÖNORM standards for vehicle first-aid kits (ÖNORM V 5100, ÖNORM V 5101), which differ from the DIN standard in terms of the filling.
