Was ist Schulgesundheit?

Schulgesundheit oder Schulgesundheitspflege bezeichnet alle Maßnahmen und Programme, die darauf abzielen, die Gesundheit von Kindern und Jugendlichen während ihrer Schulzeit zu fördern und zu erhalten. In Europa, insbesondere in Deutschland, ist Schulgesundheit ein wichtiger Bestandteil des Bildungssystems, denn Schulen sind nicht nur Orte des Lernens, sondern auch des körperlichen und seelischen Wohlbefindens.

Das Konzept der Schulgesundheitspflege umfasst präventive Maßnahmen, Gesundheitsförderung und die Behandlung kleinerer gesundheitlicher Probleme vor Ort. Typische Maßnahmen sind regelmäßige Gesundheitsuntersuchungen, Impfprogramme, Aufklärungsangebote zu Themen wie Ernährung, Bewegung, Hygiene und psychische Gesundheit sowie Erste-Hilfe-Kurse. Die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Schulen, Gesundheitseinrichtungen und Eltern ist ein zentrales Element, um eine ganzheitliche Gesundheitsförderung zu gewährleisten.

Aufgaben und Befugnisse der Schulgesundheitsfachkräfte

Schulgesundheitsfachkräfte sind zentrale Akteure der Gesundheitsversorgung in Schulen. Ihre Hauptaufgabe ist die Erstversorgung erkrankter oder verletzter Schüler auf dem Schulgelände. Darüber hinaus unterstützen sie aktiv den Kinder- und Jugendgesundheitsdienst (KJGD), insbesondere bei Maßnahmen zur Früherkennung gesundheitlicher Probleme.

Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt ihrer Arbeit ist die Gesundheitsförderung und Prävention.
