ASR A1.3 (Technical Rules for Workplaces on Health and Safety Labelling) specifies what safety signs must look like in Germany. Escape signs in accordance with this regulation are designed in such a way that they can be quickly recognised and understood by people who are not familiar with the building.

ISO 7010 is an international standard that aims to create a high degree of comprehensibility across national borders through standardised safety signs. Escape signs that comply with this standard are therefore clear in their meaning worldwide - thanks to standardised pictograms - and promote safety in internationally frequented buildings. The new escape signs therefore deliberately dispense with text in order to prevent misunderstandings among multilingual employees. This means that the previously common signs with the white inscription "Emergency exit" on a green background no longer comply with the standard.

• Adhesive film: These self-adhesive escape signs are perfect for smooth surfaces and indoor areas. They are easy to apply and ideal when quick and uncomplicated solutions are required.
• Aluminium: Signs made of aluminium are particularly robust and are therefore ideal for outdoor areas and environments with high durability requirements.

The size of an escape sign is crucial for its visibility and effectiveness. We offer escape signs in the sizes 50 x 50 mm,100 x 100 mm and 200 x 200 mm, although not all escape signs are available in all sizes. The usual and recommended size for most applications is 200 x 200 mm, as it is easily recognisable from a reasonable distance - the recognition range is approx. 20 m. Smaller sizes such as 50 x 50 mm and 100 x 100 mm are suitable for tighter spaces or areas where only a limited mounting area is available. It is important to match the size of the escape sign to the specific location and the associated visibility conditions to ensure optimum effectiveness and compliance with safety regulations.

Escape signs are an essential part of the company safety concept and are used for quick orientation in an emergency. Certain escape signs are particularly common in companies and contribute to safe evacuation and emergency rescue. The most common escape signs include:

• Escape route / emergency exit: This sign shows the way to the nearest emergency exit or escape route. It is depicted with a pictogram of a person running and an arrow and indicates the direction to the exit/escape route.
