"Thermosaver Hypothermic Rescue Bag"
The Thermosaver is based on the proven Banak method, developed by the Norwegian
ambulance and rescue services. This method combines three central components: a
moisture barrier (fleece) to protect the patient, an insulating middle layer (woollen blanket)
to retain heat and a water-repellent outer layer. The Thermosaver combines all these
features in an integrated solution that is ideal for extreme weather conditions.
It also has a moisture-absorbing barrier and serves as a robust evacuation platform
with nine sturdy carrying handles for safe transport.
The Thermosaver consists of five parts:
- Water-repellent, windproof outer layer made of polyester
- Insulating layer made of polyester fibres
- Inner layer made of polyester
- Liquid-absorbing fleece that can absorb up to 10 litres per m²
- Detachable hood made from the same polyester material combination
The patient is wrapped like a burrito, providing flexibility for all body sizes.
The bag, including the fleece, is rolled so that the "log-roll" method can be used.
After folding, the patient is secured with Velcro fasteners.
