WERO MED-X Hunter Medic Pack - Basic

Product information "WERO MED-X Hunter Medic Pack - Basic"

First aid kit for hunting

The WERO MED-X® Hunter Medic Pack is an indispensable tool for hunters and anyone who enjoys being out in nature. The WERO MED-X® Hunter Medic Pack was developed by and with the emergency physician Dr Philipp von der Saal and active hunters. It contains tactical emergency equipment for minor to serious injuries while hunting and in difficult to access or rough terrain.

Advantages of the WERO MED-X® Hunter Medic Pack for hunters

Heavy bleeding wounds can be stopped with the Combat Application Tourniquet® (CAT) Generation 7 and the Emergency Bandage T3. The pouch of the WERO MED-X® Hunter Medic Pack is made of hard-wearing and water-repellent Cordura and has a robust zip that allows it to be opened and closed quickly. The WERO.MED-X ® Hunter Medic Pack is compact, lightweight and can be easily stowed away on your belt, rucksack or in your pocket with the help of the Molle system. The first aid kit for hunting is available in two versions: Basic with Lifeguard Compressed Gauze or Advanced with QuikClot Combat Gauze.

What injuries can occur when hunting?

Hunting and hunting grounds are associated with an increased risk of injury. In addition, the supply situation in difficult to access or impassable forest terrain is often difficult and time-consuming. A reliable first aid kit for first aid directly on site is essential here.

  • Injuries during hunting: These include abrasions, scratches caused by thorns, cuts, bruises and contusions. The WERO. MED-X® Hunter Medic Pack contains plasters, the PowerTex Mini Mix, tweezers, a tick card and wound and skin cleansing wipes.
  • Panicked and injured game and animals: Aggressive, cornered game can cause bite and puncture wounds. The WERO. MED-X® Hunter Medic Pack contains wound and skin cleansing wipes, gauze compresses and WERO dressing packs for first aid.
  • Severe bleeding, bite or cut wounds and impalements on arms or legs caused by heavy equipment, game or weapons: For heavily bleeding wounds, you can use the QuikClot® Combat Gauze (part of the Advanced Set) or the Lifeguard Compressed Gauze (Basic) as well as the Combat Application Tourniquet® Generation 7 and the Emergency Bandage T3 to stop bleeding.
  • Hypothermia, disorientation: To draw attention to yourself in an emergency situation in the forest and to ensure that the body retains heat, the WERO. MED-X® Hunter Medic includes a Langer [R] whistle in accordance with EN 394 and a WERO rescue blanket

What belongs in a hunting dog handler's emergency kit?

  • Hunting dogs can sustain minor to serious injuries, especially on driven hunts but also in everyday hunting. Targeted initial treatment of the injured animal on site and rapid transport to the veterinary clinic are crucial in such cases. The SWAT-T can also be used on wounded animals. Here too, the following applies: place, wrap once around the limb, tighten, wrap and check.

WERO rescue blanket
The WERO rescue blanket is an indispensable aid in any emergency situation, whether for accidents, outdoor adventures or in emergency medicine. It consists of a film coated on both sides with a gold and a silver side, which protects against both extreme cold and excessive heat. This lightweight and flexible blanket is a standard item in any first aid kit or first aid kit and provides reliable protection from the elements at critical moments. What is a rescue blanket and how does it work? A rescue blanket, also known as an emergency blanket, is an indispensable first aid tool that protects the body from external influences such as cold or heat in extreme situations. The rescue blanket is made of a thin, metal-coated plastic material and provides effective thermal insulation. It works by reflecting body heat and thus minimising heat loss to the environment. This is particularly important to prevent hypothermia in the event of an accident or after severe blood loss, when the body is particularly susceptible to a drop in temperature. As well as protecting against the cold, the rescue blanket can also be used to protect the body from overheating by reflecting the sun's rays and thus reducing the effect of heat. Its ease of use and versatility make it an indispensable aid in emergency situations, whether in the medical field, during outdoor activities or in everyday use.The rescue blanket can be used in first aid as well as in various other scenarios such as natural disasters, hiking or camping. Its compact size and light weight make it a practical and indispensable part of any emergency kit.Protection from the cold: golden side facing outwardsThe golden side of the rescue blanket protects the body from the cold. When this side is facing outwards, the body heat is reflected and returned to the body so that a large proportion of the heat is released into the environment. This is particularly important in situations where there is a risk of hypothermia, e.g. after an accident outdoors or in a cold environment. By reflecting your own body heat, the rescue blanket can help to stabilise your body temperature and prevent life-threatening hypothermia.Protection from heat: silver side facing outwardsThe silver side of the rescue blanket is ideal for protecting the body from extreme heat and strong sunlight. When this side is facing outwards, it reflects the sun's rays and thus reduces the direct heat effect on the body. This helps to prevent overheating by reducing the heat input from outside. This use of the rescue blanket is particularly useful in hot climates or in direct sunlight to keep the body cool and prevent heat stress.Advantages of the WERO rescue blanketThe WERO rescue blanket offers comprehensive protection against extreme weather conditions, be it rain, wind, heat or cold. Thanks to its special design, it reflects up to 90% of body heat and is therefore an effective protection against the cold, minimising the risk of hypothermia. At the same time, it protects against overheating by reflecting strong sun rays. Thanks to its lightweight and flexible construction, it is easy to transport and simple to use, whether for emergencies at work, road accidents or outdoor activities such as skiing, mountaineering or sailing. With a size of 160 x 210 cm, the rescue blanket offers sufficient surface area to completely cover the body and provide optimum protection. When is a rescue blanket used?Rescue blankets are used in a variety of situations where the body needs to be protected from extreme weather conditions or temperatures. Common areas of use are:First aid in accidents: In the event of road accidents or other emergencies involving injured people or people in shock, the rescue blanket is used to maintain body heat and prevent hypothermia. It is placed over the injured person to minimise heat loss, which is particularly important in cold environments.Hiking and outdoor activities: Hikers and outdoor enthusiasts often carry a rescue blanket to protect themselves in the event of sudden weather changes or accidents. It can be used in an emergency to protect you from the cold or rain if you are in remote areas and help is not immediately available.Emergency medicine and rescue services: Rescue services and emergency doctors use rescue blankets to protect patients during transport. This is particularly important to prevent the patient's condition from deteriorating further due to external influences such as cold or heat.Natural disasters: During disasters such as earthquakes, floods or storms, rescue blankets are often distributed to protect survivors from the elements, especially if they are homeless or cut off from their shelters.Sporting events: At marathons or other sporting events, runners are often given rescue blankets after crossing the finish line to prevent rapid heat loss after physical exertion, especially in cool weather.

Combat Application Tourniquet® (CAT®) - Orange
Basic colour: Orange
WERO is the exclusive importer for Germany and Austria CAT® Tourniquet: Quality that counts - the original! The Combat Application Tourniquet® or simply CAT® is a one-hand tourniquet system for rapid haemostasis in the event of life-threatening bleeding to the extremities. What are the advantages of a CAT® tourniquet? An individually adjustable strap allows the tourniquet to be applied to most extremitiesA robust, ergonomic toggle facilitates gripping and turning The wind system (strap with toggle) tensions a freely movable inner band to prevent the inflow of arterial blood into the extremity Only one handle is required to secure the toggle under a clamping hook During transport, the Velcro fastener of the CAT® provides additional security How do I use a tourniquet? The CAT® tourniquet is an essential component of tactical casualty care. It is used during major incidents, such as terrorist attacks, and as a first measure in the event of life-threatening haemorrhaging. The use of a tourniquet should be trained, but the following applies: in an absolute emergency and if all other rescue measures, such as a tourniquet, are unsuccessful, anyone can use a tourniquet. The tourniquet can also be applied with one hand in an emergency. 1. Unfold the CAT® so that the strap forms an O-shaped loop. Then apply the CAT® above the haemorrhage in the direction of the torso. To do this, guide the injured limb through the O-shaped loop of the Velcro strap. 2. Tighten the strap so that no more than two fingertips can fit between the tourniquet and the limb. Then connect the Velcro surfaces firmly together. 3. Now turn the gag until the bleeding stops and the pulse can no longer be felt below the wound site. 4. Secure the gag under the clamping hook. Check the bleeding and pulse again - if necessary, increase the pressure by turning the gag further. 5. Now place the end of the strap over the toggle and clamp hook and secure both with the safety Velcro. Then, if possible, make a note of the time of attachment. How can I recognise a fake? There are many copies of this tourniquet. They may not be able to build up the necessary pressure, become loose or tear. Do not jeopardise the life you are trying to save again. Please make sure you get the original from a reliable source. Visually, the differences between genuine and counterfeit tourniquets can be slight and are often difficult to recognise. In some cases, however, the following clues indicate a replica: Red tip outside the USA No or inferior instructions for use: These are often not available in German and do not show the most important data and details of a medical device, such as the manufacturer, EC-REP or importer. Qualitative defects in counterfeits are characterised by the following features, for example:Inferior rods that are bendable and break easily under the required pressure A more extensive winding can make it difficult or even impossible to tighten sufficiently to stop bleeding Incorrect use can have serious consequences, including death. Combat Application Tourniquet® in occupational first aid "According to the ERC, current research indicates that the use of tourniquets can be useful for serious injuries with heavy blood loss. If a company has decided to introduce tourniquet systems into the company's first aid programme due to the particular risk situation [in terms of occupational health and safety], the application must be instructed and practised regularly." WERO MED-X® Tactical Compressed Gauze®
WERO MED-X® Tactical Compressed Gauze® is a vacuum-compressed, sterile gauze made from 100 % cotton. It is white, highly absorbent and comes in a compact, waterproof package that is easy to open. This gauze is used to fill wounds (wound packing) and stop bleeding by applying pressure. WERO MED-X® Tactical Compressed Gauze® is particularly characterised by its high absorbency and is ideal for treating heavily bleeding wounds, such as those that can occur with gunshot wounds. It can also be used as an alternative to conventional gauze to dress other types of wounds. Once the vacuum packaging is opened, the volume of the gauze increases considerably, making it easier to insert into the wound. In addition, Tactical Compressed Gauze takes up less space in first aid kits compared to conventionally packaged gauze, as the packaging is only slightly larger than a matchbox.

Elastic fixation bandage DIN 61634 - 8 cm, 1 pc
Article width: 8 cm | Quantity content: 1 pc
Elastic fixation bandage The DIN 61634 fixation bandage is specially designed for use in standardised first aid kits or first aid kits. It offers excellent support, extremely high elasticity and is available in four sizes. The elastic fixation bandage is available in 4 cm, 6 cm, 8 cm and 10 cm widths, each with a length of 4 metres. For all types of fixation bandages Fixation bandages are used to hold compresses and other wound dressings precisely on the wound and prevent them from slipping. In addition, they can also be used to stabilise injured body parts in the event of broken bones and blunt injuries or to fix splints in place in an emergency. Here, however, we recommend an ideal bandage. The quality of the bandage is crucial Fixation bandages must be of a certain quality to ensure durable bandages and a secure hold. Our DIN 61634 elastic fixation bandage is characterised by woven edges, width stability and a soft, flexible fabric. This makes it possible to apply perfectly adapted bandages to conical body parts and joints that follow every movement without slipping or constricting. Thanks to the weaving technique, our elasticated fixation bandage also has a fine, smooth surface and is permeable to air, making it comfortable to wear.

The Emergency Bandage®, the original - olive, 10 cm
Article width: 10 cm | Basic colour: Olive
WERO is the exclusive importer for Germany and AustriaReliable emergency bandage for severe bleeding The original for the fastest first aid in an emergency The Emergency Bandage™ combines primary care, pressure bandage, secondary treatment and secure fixation in one emergency bandage for severe bleeding. This ensures rapid first aid for traumatic injuries. The sterile emergency bandage is suitable for virtually any injury to the body. Thanks to its design, the emergency bandage is the ideal emergency bandage for injuries to the head, armpit and groin in particular. The easy handling also allows the injured person to apply it themselves. This is an original product from First Care. Emergency Bandage™ or Israeli Bandage? Two wordings for one bandage The Emergency Bandage™, or "emergency bandage for tactical trauma treatment", is often referred to as the "Israeli Bandage". The name "Israeli Bandage" can be traced back to the development of an Israeli paramedic who designed the Emergency Bandage™ at the beginning of the 1990s to meet the requirements of modern operating conditions. In which areas is an Emergency Bandage used? Military Disaster relief Rescue services and emergency medical services First aiders and first aid kits The advantages of the Emergency Bandage™/ Israeli BandageFast and efficient initial and secondary treatment of heavily bleeding woundsThe emergency bandage is suitable for use by both laypersons and paramedicsCan be applied by the injured person themselvesPressure bar replaces separate pressure body and thus saves timeAbsorbent wound dressing, does not stick to the woundSafe and controlled unrolling due to sewn-through threadFixation possible without additional aids Significant time and cost savings How do I apply an Emergency Bandage™/ Israeli Bandage? Place the sterile, non-adherent dressing of the Emergency Bandage™ on the woundWrap the first layer of bandage over the wound, guide it through the handle of the pressure applicator and then pull it with the bandage back over the wound site. The tight pull exerts direct pressure on the wound dressing or wound and stops the bleeding. The applicator acts like a pressure pad. It also makes bandaging easier as it holds the wound dressing and the first wrap securely in place. The subsequent additional wraps protect the wound dressing and the applicator from external influences. The Emergency Bandage™ as a tourniquet In many cases, the Emergency Bandage™ enables the injured person to apply a pressure dressing independently. It can also be used as a tourniquet for complete haemostasis in an emergency situation with just one hand. To do this, the bandage wraps must be twisted several times. How can I recognise a replica? As with most products that have established themselves on the market, there are also replicas of the Emergency Bandage™. These often have poor quality individual components: The plastic breaks more quickly The bandage is less elastic The adhesion of the adhesive is insufficient
