Blizzard
Optimum care for shock and hypothermia Blizzard Reflexcell™ technology Blizzard Reflexcell™ products are made of a multi-layer composite material consisting of two aluminium foils and a plastic foil. The special feature lies in the structure of these materials. The foils are z-folded and staggered on top of each other, creating a cell-like fabric structure that optimally stores heat. The two inner layers are finely perforated to allow the air heated by the body to circulate evenly in the cavities. The outer aluminium layer is impermeable and also reflects the heat. The result is outstanding thermal insulation and effective protection against external influences and cold. Blizzard Reflexcell™ products are radiolucent and can therefore be left on the patient during both X-ray and computed tomography examinations.

What is tactical emergency equipment and in which areas is it used?

Tactical emergency equipment is generally aimed at the police, the military and authorities with security tasks. However, tactical emergency equipment products can also be life-saving for forestry workers and outdoor enthusiasts (such as extreme sportsmen or hunters). The aim of tactical emergency equipment is to provide reliable first aid measures in absolutely exceptional situations in view of the potential for danger and injury and to be able to apply them in a targeted manner.

This includes:

  • Tactical manoeuvres and operational situations
  • MANV (mass casualty incident)
  • Natural disasters
  • Wars / conflicts

Tactical emergency equipment is based on the internationally recognised cABCDE scheme for security forces and first responders. This is a strategy for examining critically injured persons based on the motto "Treat first, what kills first".

  • <c> Life-threatening haemorrhage
  • <A> Airway (airway)
  • <B> Breathing (breathing & chest)
  • <C> Circulation (bleeding & circulation)
  • <D> Disability (neurological status)
  • <E> Exposure / Environment (heat preservation & care)

What belongs in an emergency kit

The content and scope of the tactical emergency equipment depends on the area of operation and the potential severity of the injuries. Based on the above cABCDE scheme, the following items can be listed:

  • Life-threatening bleeding: Tourniquet tourniquet systems (e.g. CAT® Generation 7)
  • Airway: breathing aids, respiratory mask, resuscitation bag, tube
  • Maintaining respiration: chest plasters (e.g. Foxseal™ Chest Seal), puncture relief needle
  • Bleeding: Emergency pressure bandage (Emergency Bandage™T3), pelvic sling, haemostyptic agents (QuikClot® Combat Gauze®)
  • Neurological status: Immobilisation collar, diagnostic light Heat preservation: Rescue tent, rescue blanket (e.g. Blizzard Reflexcell™)
  • Items of equipment: IFAK bags, scissors

What is the difference between tactical emergency equipment and equipment for operational first aid?

Tactical emergency equipment is used in particular in areas where people find themselves in life-threatening emergency situations. Fast and effective medical assistance - as well as the right equipment and emergency tools - is therefore important in order to save lives. Occupational first aid, on the other hand, focuses on injuries and emergency situations in everyday working life. Potential hazards can often be identified in advance.

At WERO MED-X, you can obtain the necessary life-saving equipment sorted according to the cABCDE scheme.
