The way the BOA® works is revolutionary. Since the introduction of constriction bands, the design has not fundamentally changed - until now with the BOA®. For optimised central venous access, the BOA® uses a rolling motion to direct venous blood into the distal veins while allowing arterial flow. (For maximum efficiency, the BOA® should be placed as high as possible on the limb) This technique dilates the veins, making IV access faster and more effective in even the most challenging patients.
The ease of use of the BOA® is also revolutionary. The patented design features a quick-click connector and two-finger quick release for added efficiency. Medical staff no longer have to tie (and often retie) a constricting strap. The BOA® reduces deployment time when treating combat wounds, civilian trauma patients or medical patients with poor vascular access, such as diabetic wounds.
