First aid kits form the basis of operational first aid in the company. In addition to the basic equipment with the prescribed DIN 13157 for first aid kits, each first aid kit or first aid box also contains extended dressing material for the special hazard areas. The contents of DIN 13157 and DIN 13169 are strictly prescribed. The WERO range includes first aid kits and cases made of sheet steel as well as orange or blue plastic.
It is important to regularly check that the contents of the first aid kit are complete. If you have already opened or used up some of the products in the case, you can order the appropriate refill material from WERO. Please also take a look at our services.
DIN 13157 defines the standard for first aid material in smaller companies and workplaces with a smaller number of employees. The contents of such a first aid kit are precisely defined and focussed on the basic needs of first aid.
The essential components include various sizes of plasters, compresses, bandages and wipes, as well as special instruments such as scissors, disposable gloves and rescue blankets. A DIN 13157-compliant kit is a must in any working environment, as it provides quickly accessible, life-saving materials that can be crucial in an emergency.
DIN 13169 prescribes extended equipment for larger companies or places where a larger number of people work or are present. This standard includes all the materials in DIN 13157 and supplements them with additional first aid materials and instruments that enable more comprehensive first aid. These include, for example, additional fixation bandages, bandage cloths, wound compresses, cold compresses and eye rinsing agents. The first aid kit in accordance with DIN 13169 ensures that companies are adequately equipped to provide effective first aid, even in the event of more serious accidents.
First aid kits must be regularly checked for completeness by a responsible person. The expiry date of the individual products must also be checked. Used materials can be supplemented or replaced individually at any time or ordered as complete refill sets. It is important that your first aid kit always fulfils the requirements of the relevant DIN standard.
First aid kits, including first aid kits, must be kept available wherever working conditions make this necessary. They must be evenly distributed so that they can be reached within a maximum distance of 100 metres or the height of a storey.
the dressing material must be stored in such a way that it is protected from damaging influences (e.g. contamination, moisture, high temperatures) but is easily accessible at all times. In a first aid kit, the first aid materials are always protected from splash water and dust. The first aid materials must be replenished or replaced after they have been used up, become unusable or expire. Completeness and expiry dates should therefore be checked regularly in order to be able to provide comprehensive first aid at all times. Non-sterile packaged dressing materials such as rescue blankets and triangular cloths only need to be replenished after use. Sterile packaged materials such as compresses and bandages must be replaced by the expiry date at the latest.
All first aid kits in the WERO online shop comply with DIN 13157 or the large filling for first aid kits DIN 13169. However, in addition to the prescribed contents of a first aid kit, there are other potential hazards depending on the industry.
We therefore offer special first aid kits with contents tailored to the individual potential hazards. In addition to the basic equipment in accordance with DIN 13157, many other products are included in the first aid kits. Industries with special requirements and potential hazards include schools, construction sites and chemical laboratories.
