Buy adhesive plasters on a roll from WERO
Adhesive plasters, also known as fixation plasters, coil plasters or roll plasters, are used to securely fasten compresses and other wound dressings as required. They are therefore part of a proper wound dressing consisting of a sterile dressing and individual fixation.
What is an adhesive plaster or fixation plaster and what is it used for?
Adhesive plasters are single-sided adhesive tapes with strong adhesive strength. They consist of film or textile fabric and adhesives. Most variants are easy to unroll from the adhesive plaster reel and can be torn lengthways and crossways by hand. Thanks to their ability to adhere firmly to surfaces, they help to protect the wound from external influences and to stop bleeding. In combination with a wound dressing, adhesive plasters ensure that the wound area is immobilised.
Major injuries often lead to heavy bleeding from the wound. In this case, a conventional plaster is usually not sufficient. A dressing with adhesive plasters is required to fix the sterile wound dressing in the best possible way.
Adhesive plasters for fixing dressing material in the event of injuries
Injuries and cuts can be deep or superficial. If the bleeding is difficult to stop as a result, it may help to apply pressure to the wound with one or more gauze compresses. At the same time, the wound dressing should be securely attached to the surrounding healthy skin with a fixation plaster. After all, the affected person cannot remain at the site of the incident, but must be transported or move around independently if necessary. In this case, the combination of wound dressing and fixation plasters is the ideal combination for treating the injury in a first aid case.
Adhesive plasters from WERO - suitable for securing wound dressings, bandages and medical aids
WERO adhesive plasters offer convincing advantages in medicine and care. They can reliably fulfil the special requirements as fixation aids. This is made possible by their versatile properties, which are used in various product solutions.
Take our Micasilk coil plasters or roll plasters, for example. It is water-repellent, breathable and particularly skin-friendly thanks to its latex-free polyacrylate adhesive. It even holds tubes, cannulas and other medical aids securely in place thanks to its adhesive strength on a wide variety of surfaces.
What is the difference between conventional finger plasters and adhesive plasters?
Finger plasters are categorised as quick wound dressings. They are the ideal solution for minor injuries with little bleeding. In contrast to fixation plasters, finger plasters have an integrated wound dressing. This means that conventional plasters can be applied directly to the wound.
As adhesive plasters deliberately do not have a wound dressing, they are not suitable for treating minor wounds as quickly as possible. Adhesive plasters are often used to treat larger wounds. As these cannot be treated with plaster strips due to their size, wound dressings with larger dimensions, such as non-woven dressings, are often used. However, these are generally not self-adhesive, which is why adhesive plasters are used to hold them in place. Adhesive plasters on a roll are usually very easy to tear off by hand.
The right adhesive plaster for all applications
Heavily bleeding wounds usually require a dressing with adhesive plasters. The adhesive tapes are suitable for securing aseptic wound dressings, elastic bandages, tubes and other medical aids such as cannulas. You can find more detailed information on our products on the respective product pages.
