Diagnostic lights bring light into the darkness
A diagnostic light is a medical diagnostic instrument that is used during physical examinations. The small, pen-shaped torch can be used to direct a powerful light source onto the area to be examined.
Ideally, a diagnostic light should have the following features:
- Handy format (similar to a biro)
- Low weight for mobile use
- Robust and modern design
- LED lamps with a long service life
- Ready for immediate use
- Can be disinfected
- Easy replacement of lamps and batteries
Where are diagnostic lights used?
Diagnostic lights are used as part of patient treatment . A diagnostic light can be used to better illuminate various areas of the body, such as the oral cavity, in order to make a diagnosis. They are part of the standard inventory in emergency medicine and in the ENT field.
Is the diagnostic light also suitable for eye examinations?
It should be noted that not every diagnostic light is suitable for examining eye reflexes - even if they are often referred to as pupil lights or pupil lamps in general usage . The decisive factor here is that the LED lamps are eye-friendly and have been tested for photobiological safety in accordance with DIN EN 62471:2009-03. This involves determining the limit values of all electrically operated broadband radiation sources such as LEDs, with the exception of lasers.
Our diagnostic light offers precisely this tested, photobiological safety.
