Better wound healing

Whether we work in the office, workshop or laboratory, minor cuts, tears or abrasions are part of everyday working life. You can be as careful as you like, but at some point you will cut yourself on the edge of a piece of paper or scrape past a rough surface. Such injuries are usually completely harmless. However, they can be very annoying for several days, are a hindrance at work and can tear open again and again due to the strain.

They also occasionally leave scars that only fade slowly.

Wound and healing ointment from WERO

In addition to cleaning the wound and covering it with plasters, the application of a wound and healing ointment has also proven effective in treating such superficial wounds. Basically, these ointments care for the stressed, sore tissue: swelling and irritation are reduced, wound edges and the surrounding tissue become softer and more flexible. Both of these in turn alleviate pain and allow the wound to heal more quickly. In addition, the formation of new tissue is supported and scarring is reduced.

How wound and healing ointments work

The healing effect can be based on very different ingredients. Many products contain dexpanthenol, for example, which has a moisturising and wound-healing effect. Other substances may include linoleic acid, zinc oxide or salicylic acid, which in various combinations have antimicrobial, antifungal, keratolytic (helps to loosen dead skin and horny cells), analgesic and/or anti-inflammatory effects. However, depending on the active ingredient and concentration, the ointments are medicinal products.

In general, you should only use medicines, even if they do not require a prescription, after consulting a doctor. What is a recommendation for private use is mandatory for occupational first aid. DGUV Information 204-022 states under point 6.2 Tasks of first aiders: it is not the "responsibility of the first aider to hand out medication (...) to employees".

WERO wound and healing ointment is not a medicinal product

WERO Wound and Healing Ointment therefore deliberately does not contain any pharmacological substances. This means that although the ointment is a medical product, it is not a medicinal product. You can therefore use it without hesitation in occupational first aid.

The WERO wound and healing ointment is used to create the optimum wound environment for rapid wound healing:

  • Moist wound treatment creates the physiological conditions for healing
  • A low pH value in the wound promotes healing and at the same time serves to inhibit infection
  • Essential trace elements support wound healing

In addition, haematoma and oedema are broken down more quickly, swelling is reduced and pain is alleviated. Our WERO wound and healing ointment can therefore also provide relief from blunt trauma such as bruises and contusions.

It also contains no irritating ingredients, which is why it can be used on the mouth and mucous membranes without hesitation. It is also absorbed immediately and is non-greasy.

IMPORTANT!

Before applying a wound and healing ointment, wash your hands thoroughly and then clean any soiled wounds with our

Application

WERO Wound and Healing Ointment should be applied to the injured skin area in a layer approx. 2 mm thick and also slightly beyond the edges of the wound. It is somewhat more fluid than normal ointments, so that it can be spread easily without having to massage it in with possibly painful pressure. You should repeat the application several times in the first three days after the injury. The ointment can also be used in conjunction with a standard plaster. This provides the injured skin with additional protection against contamination or irritation caused by external influences.
