What is a bite healer?
The season for domestic mosquitoes usually begins in March/April. The risk of being bitten is particularly high near water and swamp areas. Rain barrels, ponds or small streams are similarly attractive areas for mosquitoes.
A bite happens quickly and the unpleasant itching and accompanying symptoms such as swelling and redness usually set in after a short time. Now there are some household remedies that help to a greater or lesser extent and that are usually not to hand when you need them.
A sting healer is the practical companion for travelling, the car or the workplace. Thanks to its handy and ergonomic shape, the bite healer fits in any host's pocket. The "bite away" sting healer is a thermal sting healer and is powered by its own battery. At the lower end of the sting healer is a contact plate, which is heated to a temperature of approx. 50 degrees Celsius. Application to the affected area causes both the animal and the body's own proteins to break down. This process prevents redness and swelling and heals more quickly. The heat treatment at the puncture site provides immediate relief from itching.
The working principle of a sting healer
Whether for stings and bites from mosquitoes, bees, horseflies or wasps - swelling and itching can be quickly reduced by applying heat to specific points. As the sting healer works without chemicals, it is also suitable for children, allergy sufferers and pregnant women.
The way the sting healer works is as ingenious as it is simple. The concentrated heat (approx. 49-53 °C) at the puncture site leads to the partial decomposition of the protein molecules introduced and to the suppression of the release of the body's own histamine. This leads to a reduction in swelling and itching.
The bite away sting healer lets you choose between two programmes:
1st
programme for adults (approx. 5 seconds application time)
2nd
programme for children (approx. 3 seconds application time)
The effectiveness was tested in the study "Concentrated heat therapy for insect bites: Data situation and practical considerations".
