Fingertip plasters
Fingertip plasters offer optimum protection for sensitive fingertips in the event of injuries. In contrast to classic textile plasters, special plasters for the fingertips are ergonomically shaped and adapt to the anatomical shape of the fingertip. In the elasticated version, the plaster material is particularly supple and does not hinder work with the impaired hand.
Apply fingertip plasters correctly
- Disinfection: Start by thoroughly disinfecting your hands and then carefully cleaning the wound to prevent infection.
- Preparing the plaster: Open the plaster packaging without touching the wound dressing to maintain sterility.
- Remove the protective film: Remove the protective film from the plaster to expose the adhesive sides.
- Applying the plaster: Place the central, padded wound dressing directly on the fingertip so that the longer, adhesive side surfaces lie against the side of the finger.
- Fixing the side wings: Fold the side wings around the finger and press firmly to ensure a secure hold.
Fingertip plasters vs. "conventional" textile plasters - what are the differences?
Special plasters for the fingertips are shaped differently to conventional plasters and adapt to the anatomical shape of the human fingertip. This type of plaster can therefore be applied precisely to the injured fingertip without any great effort or cutting of the plaster material. This makes it easy to apply the finger plaster when you need to get back to work quickly.
A fingertip plaster does not slip, is not a hindrance at work and can be replaced in a flash if necessary. Elastic, detectable fingertip plasters in blue are suitable for special applications: these can be quickly retrieved if they slip off the fingertip during work.
What all types of fingertip plasters have in common is their special shape: unlike conventional rectangular wound plasters, plaster strips for the fingertip are shaped like a butterfly. In the event of an injury, this type of plaster can be easily adapted to the shape of the fingertip in just a few simple steps.
Elastic or stable - what is the difference between fingertip plasters?
A basic distinction must be made between stable and elastic fingertip plasters for fingertips. The stable version is used, for example, for very rough work, especially in industry. Although these finger plasters protect the fingertips from extremely heavy strain, they do not allow much fine motor work with the fingers.
Our elasticated fingertip plasters, on the other hand, are made from particularly supple yet stable textile fabric. This type of fingertip plaster is longitudinally and transversely elastic, permeable to air and adapts perfectly to the structure and texture of the fingertip, such as length and thickness. At the same time, the plaster fabric is very robust and sits securely on the finger.
The sensitive fingertip remains protected and the injury can heal in peace under the plaster. This means that work can continue without any problems if the fingertip is slightly injured. Special plaster strips for the fingertips should therefore be in every company first aid kit.
Blue fingertip plasters are also available in a detectable form - important for occupational safety in the food processing industry, for example
In contrast to textile fingertip plasters, blue plasters are particularly suitable for the food processing industry. Operational safety and occupational safety require quick retrieval (detectability) if the plaster is lost during work.
Such blue detectable plasters are just as useful in food factories and industrial bakeries as they are in canteen kitchens and restaurants. They can be used to quickly find lost plasters when rinsing glasses or washing vegetables, for example. Blue waterproof and detectable fingertip plasters have an electromagnetic aluminium strip under the wound dressing for quick retrieval.
