i-gel® is a unique, PVC- and latex-free breathing aid that is the result of years of research and development. The result of this development is a perfect match between i-gel and human anatomy. The design of the i-gel® was inspired by the perilaryngeal structures. The shape, consistency and contours of the i-gel exactly replicate the pharyngeal, laryngeal and perilaryngeal relationships to achieve a perfect seal. This innovative concept eliminates the need to inflate a cuff and thus significantly reduces the risk of compression trauma.
