Necklite™
The Necklite™ is a cervical spine support collar (now also commonly referred to as a Stifneck in Germany) for prophylactic treatment of suspected cervical spine injuries. The Necklite™ splint is made from a flexible aluminium-foam composite and provides secure support and relief in the cervical spine area. The 55 cm long and 18 cm high splint can be folded or rolled up to save space and can therefore be stowed anywhere. This makes it ideal for compact emergency equipment for emergency services.
Stifneck that is easy to put on for emergency conditions
Necklite™ is designed for operational conditions. The grey colour does not stand out against clothing. The aluminium core covered with PU foam offers high stability and flexibility at the same time. The movable chin rest adapts perfectly to the shape of the patient's chin. This makes application easier. The Necklite™ can be fixed quickly and individually thanks to a Velcro fastener. Trachea and drainage openings as well as the radiolucent material allow immediate further treatment of the patient in rescue centres or hospitals.
Necklite™ instructions
- The back of the support collar is pushed under the patient's neck until it can be grasped on the other side. The back is labelled as such and has a horizontal elliptical opening.
- The front is placed over the lower jaw. The oval opening marks the centre, which should be directly under the chin.
- The collar is then secured by placing the Velcro tape firmly around the patient's neck. The necessary freedom of breathing must be ensured.
- Finally, the small wings are pressed against the chin to ensure that you stabilise the position of the head.
- Finally, shape the cervical collar to immobilise the patient's throat and neck and readjust the Velcro fastener if necessary.
