Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a combination of chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. In some cases, ventilation is not possible even after stretching the neck and clearing the oral cavity because blood, stomach contents or other fluids are blocking the upper airways. The unconscious patient is unable to cough up the accumulated fluid. With the TVAC, liquids and small foreign bodies (thanks to an opening width of 9.5 mm) can be quickly suctioned out of the throat and upper trachea. In this way, airway obstruction can be removed and resuscitation can be initiated.
