Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a combination of chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. In some cases, it is not possible to give breaths even after stretching the neck and clearing the mouth, as blood, stomach contents or other fluids are blocking the upper airways. However, the unconscious patient will not be able to cough up the accumulated fluid. With the Suction Easy™, liquids and small foreign bodies (thanks to an opening width of 9.5 mm) can be quickly suctioned out of the throat and upper trachea. In this way, a blockage in the airway can be removed to initiate resuscitation.

Advantages of the Suction Easy™ suction pump

The Suction Easy™ manual suction pump can be used without any particular effort, is also suitable for smaller hands thanks to its small size and offers good suction power. The extremely handy disposable suction system consists of a pear-shaped pump, a suction hose and a collection bag. Thanks to its simple design, the manual aspirator can easily be used by one person.

The system has two valve flaps. The first is located inside the suction pump, the second at the drainage opening inside the collection bag. This prevents fluid from flowing back to the patient. In addition, excess fluid is simply drained out of the bag. This ensures that it always works properly. After use, everything can be stored in the Suction Easy™ delivery bag. Once the biohazard symbol has been cleared, the bag must be disposed of in accordance with the regulations.

Protection and hygiene when using manual suction devices

When using a suction device, you will come into contact with blood, fluids or secretions. It is therefore advisable to use disposable gloves to protect against infection.

Practising using the Suction Easy™

To be able to use the Suction Easy™ quickly and safely in an emergency, it is advisable to practise using it regularly. The manual suction device can be used several times with water for training. To do this, clean water is sucked out of a container and pressed through the membrane to empty it. Before the next training session, the membrane of the vent opening must dry completely so that it regains its semi-permeability.
