Nitrile is one of the most common base materials for disposable gloves. The chemical compound, also known as nitrile rubber, consists mainly of a combination of nitrogen and carbon. Natural latex contains more than two hundred proteins, some of which have been categorised as allergens by the WHO. Time and again, latex allergies occur when wearing disposable gloves, which manifest themselves in the form of skin reactions or irritation of the mucous membranes. Nitrile is considered to be one of the alternative low-allergy synthetic compounds to latex.
