Product information "Werolin® Wound cleansing spray, 75 ml"

Prevents infections, cleans the wound painlessly and reduces bleeding and swelling. Applied immediately after the injury, the alcohol-free spray forms the basis for an optimal wound healing process.

Wound cleansing - how to support the self-healing process

The right wound cleansing spray is an effective remedy for the initial treatment of abrasions and cuts as well as first and second degree burns. When used correctly, it creates the basis for a fast and complication-free wound healing process and should therefore not be missing from the first aid kit of your company or organisation.

Why is a wound cleansing spray important?

In the event of skin damage such as abrasions, cuts and burns, dirt and germs get into the wound, which in turn can cause infections. To prevent this, the wound should be cleaned during initial treatment. A wound cleansing spray in combination with a suitable plaster, compress or bandage helps to optimise wound healing. If the tissue heals quickly and without problems, only a small or inconspicuous scar will usually remain. Werolin® wound cleansing spray has a threefold effect: firstly, it accelerates the healing of the wound by permanently moisturising the injury when applied several times. The acidic pH value of the spray has a positive effect on the healing environment of the wound, as it prevents germs from multiplying. This significantly reduces the risk of the healing process being affected by microorganisms. Furthermore, the so-called "cell nutrition" is improved by the ingredients iron and zinc contained in the Werolin® wound cleansing spray. The ingredients iron and zinc stimulate cell metabolism so that harmful substances are removed from the wound more quickly. Swelling and bleeding are reduced. Werolin® Wound Healing Spray is alcohol-free, so wounds can be cleaned without pain. Another advantage: Our wound cleansing spray is not a medicine and can therefore be used by any first aider without hesitation.

Cleaning wounds during initial treatment

If the skin is injured, it should first be cleaned. To remove dirt and germs, first aiders can use clear water or, ideally, an isotonic saline solution This is known as "mechanical cleansing" and is used to rinse coarse foreign bodies such as dirt and dust particles and detached tissue particles from the wound.

Apply wound cleansing spray

For small injuries of up to three centimetres, three to four strokes are sufficient; for larger wounds, apply at least six to eight strokes and repeat if necessary.

Apply plasters

The next step is to protect the wound with a suitable dressing. Plasters, bandages or gauze, fleece or absorbent compresses allow a moist wound environment. This is particularly important as wounds heal faster in a moderately moist environment than in the air. This is mainly due to the fact that the body has little opportunity to support healing with its own substances in a dry wound. The transport medium water is missing and the healing process is slower. The wound can subsequently be kept moisturised with Werolin® wound healing spray and the dressing or plaster renewed.

Successful wound healing

If there is no reddish to purple discolouration, the scab will form quickly after a few days. Never remove the scab by force. You are likely to tear young, healthy tissue and thus delay wound healing.

Complications due to inadequate wound care

Optimal initial treatment of the wound should prevent infection and support the healing of the skin. However, if pathogens are able to spread, localised inflammation occurs in the wound area. Although a scab may form, pus may develop underneath it. Over time, the wound deepens. If you delay treatment for too long, you risk visible changes to the skin in the long term, such as deep scars.
